A couple of decades ago, I had only heard the word Halal and Haram in books but not on products in Pakistan. Verifying the halalness of various food items may become important, especially in non-Muslim majority countries. Check carefully each time you buy food products, as food manufacturers may have changed ingredients after the last time you purchased them. Check for Halal certification or read food labels on these food items before you consume them. However, certain foods are difficult to classify because of the ingredients they contain. These words play an important role in the life of Muslims no matter where they live. Both Halal and Haram are two Arabic words. Muslims avoid foods and beverages that are considered haram, meaning not permitted for Muslims to consume them. These laws define foods that are considered Halal, meaning lawful or permissible to consume. Islam includes observing dietary laws which come from Islamic teachings. Following Quran and Sunnah in all their dealings is mandatory upon them. Is it possible to give a complete list of Halal foods and Haram foods in one place? That might be considered too ambitious as every country and every region has a large number of foods that are Halal but people living out of that region or country do not know much about these foods. Which are Halal foods and which are haram foods? Every Muslim wants to know the answer to this question to lead their lives comfortably.
